Everyone gets what they want from Bob Marley. Admired in Europe, the first star of the Third World, he was the first “global” artist. When he died on May 11, 1981, Bob Marley was only 36 years old. The general public had known him for barely five or six years. Few of his admirers suspected the historical significance that the character would take on. 30 years later, the anniversary of his death is the occasion for multiple celebrations, editions and reissues of his most obscure recordings.
